Dr Rick Santimaw BHSc ND
Dr. Rick first received his Bachelor degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, which gave a firm understanding of the human body and all of its intricacies. He then received his training as a Naturopathic Medical physician at Vancouver’s own Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr Rick appreciates the quality of his medical training at the Boucher Institute preparing him to diagnose and treat his patients in a holistic manner as well as understanding the delicate balance between all aspects of the human body, mind, and soul.
In addition to being in private practice at the Fourth and Alma Naturopatic Medical Centre for the past 5 years, Dr Rick has returned to the Boucher Institute as a clinic supervisor for third and fourth year interns.
Dr. Rick is dedicated to combining his understanding of the human body in both health and disease with the principles of Naturopathic Medicine to provide his patients with a professional and integrative approach to optimal health. Dr. Santimaw strongly believes that a healthy lifestyle is easily attainable and he works closely with his patients to help them achieve this goal.
Dr. Rick has a long history of participating in a variety of sports at almost all levels. This has given him insight into the pain, treatment, and recovery process associated with sports related injuries. He has a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries, sports medicine, injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain.

Dr. Rick is proud to practice with Dr. Paula Fainstat and the rest of the incredible team at the Fourth & Alma Naturopathic Medical Centre. The Clinic offers testing of hormones, food sensitivities/allergies, heavy metal and environmental toxins, bowel disturbance, parasites, hair analysis, standard and specialized lab testing, Vega testing, and an extensive dispensary.
Dr. Rick is licensed by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC), and is a member of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Medicine (CAND). more >>
